Fitting the deck on this small ship has been a little bit taxing, it is interesting to try and make it fit the contour of the lower jaw (do birds have jaws?)

I love the way the shadows work in the strong light.

The finished piece. Leaving the masts as whole twigs really accentuates the ambiguous nature of the object – as it pretends to be a boat and is a bone and bits of wood. This one brings to mind a story my dad used to tell me about witches riding into the house on boats made of eggshells.
